I’m still setting up this blog. Sorry for the delay.
The Sun Has Risen
The Sun has risen in the East,
Creator has blessed us with another day.
We honor our ancestors and all who came before us,
Their wisdom and teachings guide us on our path.
As we pause in our daily work,
We offer gratitude for the blessings of life.
We remember our connection to all living beings,
And pray for the healing of the Earth and all her creatures.

Prayer in Honor the Six Killed in Nashville, Tennessee
(This prayer was composed in honor of the three children and three adults who were senselesly murdered at a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee on March 27, 2023. Those killed were Evelyn Diekhaus, William Kinney and Hallie Scruggs, all age 9, and Mike Hill, 61, Cynthia Peak, 61, and Dr. Katherine Koonce, 60)
Great Spirit, we come to You with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes for the children and adults who have left this world too soon because of the shooting in Nashville. They were taken from us too early, and we ask for Your comfort and guidance in this time of grief.
We pray for their families and loved ones, who must endure the pain of their loss. May they find peace and healing in Your love and presence. Creator, we ask that You wrap your arms around them and give them strength to carry on.

Great and Mighty Gitche Manitou
Great and Mighty Gitche Manitou, we come before You with great reverence. You are the creator of all things, the giver of life, and the source of all goodness and wisdom. You are the one who has been with us since the beginning of time, guiding us and watching over us with Your loving grace.
We ask for Your blessing upon us and upon all of creation. Help us to live in harmony with the world around us, to be good stewards of the earth and all its resources. Give us the strength and courage to stand up for what is right and to work towards a world of peace and justice for all.

Prayer Concerning the Commandments
Oh Great Spirit, hear my prayer,
As I read the sacred words of Deuteronomy,
I am reminded of the importance of Your commandments,
To love You with all our heart, soul, and strength.
Help us to remember these words,
To teach them to our children and our grandchildren,
To talk about them when we sit at home,
When we walk along the way,
When we lie down, and when we rise up.

A Prayer to Be One
Oh Great Spirit, hear my prayer,
As I read the sacred words of John chapter 17,
I am reminded of the prayer that Creator Sets Free spoke,
For His disciples and for all who would come to believe.
He prayed that we would be one,
As he and You the Father are one,
That we would be united in love and in spirit,
And that we would bear witness to His truth.
Great Spirit, help us to remember these words,
And to strive for unity and harmony,
Among all people, regardless of race, tribe or tongue,
So that we may be a reflection of Your divine love.

And I am grateful for Your presence in my life.

Prayer for Restoration
Great Spirit, hear my prayer,
As it is written in the sacred text of Isaiah,
“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way”
Help us to remember the teachings of our ancestors,
To walk in the way of You, our Creator,
To follow the path of righteousness,
And to care for all creatures great and small.

Prayer for All Those Suffering
Great Creator, who formed us from the dust of the earth,
We come to You in prayer,
With hearts full of questions and confusion.
We read the story of Joseph,
And we see the jealousy of his brothers,
And the dreams that he had,
Which seemed to point to his future greatness.

Prayer for our Eternal Home
Great Creator, who gave us life,
We come before You in prayer,
With open hearts and humble spirits.
We thank You for the blessings of this world,
For the beauty of the earth and the sky,

For the animals and the plants,
For all that sustains us and gives us joy.
