Great Creator, who gave us life,
\nWe come before You in prayer,
\nWith open hearts and humble spirits.<\/p>\n
We thank You for the blessings of this world,
\nFor the beauty of the earth and the sky,
\nFor the mountains and the rivers,
\nFor the animals and the plants,
\nFor all that sustains us and gives us joy.
\n<\/p>\n
We also thank You for the promise of new life,
\nFor the hope of a home not made with hands,
\nBut eternal in the heavens.<\/p>\n
We know that this earthly tent is temporary,
\nAnd that one day we will lay it down,
\nBut we have a building from Creator,
\nA house not made with hands,
\nEternal in the heavens.<\/p>\n
We long to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
\nSo that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.<\/p>\n
We know that while we are at home in the body,
\nWe are away from the Teacher,
\nBut we walk by faith, not by sight,
\nAnd we are confident and willing,
\nRather to be absent from the body,
\nAnd to be present with the Teacher.<\/p>\n
We pray that You will strengthen our faith,
\nAnd help us to live in the hope of Your promises,
\nKnowing that our earthly life is but a temporary dwelling,
\nAnd that we have an eternal home with You.<\/p>\n
We thank you, Great Creator,
\nFor the gift of life, both here on earth and in the heavens,
\nAnd for the hope of a future beyond this world,
\nThrough Your Son, Creator Sets Free. Amen.<\/p>\n
